Fast identisch mit der "Spencer Affair" • • • • • (bewertet mit 3 von 5 Punkten) Alle meine Rezensionen ansehen Rezension bezieht sich auf: Paul Temple and the Jonathan Mystery (Audio CD) Ich weiß nicht, welches Hörspiel früher geschrieben wurde, Paul Temple and the Spencer Affair oder Paul Temple and the Jonathan Mystery, aber die Spencer Affair wurde definitiv früher produziert (1957 und Jonathan Mystery erst 1963). Mir ist gleich aufgefallen, dass die Handlung fast identisch ist. Paul Temple begegnet auf Rückreise nach England jemandem (in diesem Fall einem amerikanischem Ehepaar, im Spencerfall war es Rupert Dreisler) und wenn sie in England ankommen, stellt sich raus, dass das Kind des Fremden ermordet wurde. Paul Temple will den Fall aufklären. Die Parallelen sind unübersehbar. Teilweise sind sogar die Dialoge direkt aus "The Spencer Affair" übernommen. Ich weiß nicht, warum das so gemacht wurde und man es für nötig hielt, praktisch dasselbe Hörspiel mit geringen Veränderungen noch mal zu produzieren. Wenigstens ist der Bösewicht in diesem Fall ein Anderer, allerdings ist die Auflösung recht vorhersehbar. Diesmal können mich auch nicht alle Sprecher begeistern, Grizelda Hervey in der Rolle der Mutter des Ermordeten ist einfach nur nervig. Die Atmosphäre ist zwar nach wie vor sehr gut, allerdings bin ich enttäuscht und erstmals auch stellenweise gelangweilt, da ich die Geschichte ja praktisch schon kenne. ----------------------------------------------------------- I don't know which radio play was written earlier, Paul Temple and the Spencer Affair or Paul Temple and the Jonathan Mystery, but the Spencer Affair was definitely produced earlier (1957, while the Jonathan Mystery was produced in 1963). After a few minutes of listening I already noticed that the story is almost identical. Paul Temple meets someone on his way back from the USA (in this case: an American couple, in the Spencer case it was Rupert Dreisler). On arrival in England, it is revealed that the child of the new acquaintance was murdered and Paul Temple is asked to help. The parallels are too obvious to overlook. Sometimes even the dialogues are are taken directly from "The Spencer Affair". I have no clue why somebody thought it necessary to produce the same play again with very few changes in the story. At least the bad guy is a different one this time, but to be honest I thought he was very obvious. This time not even the speakers could excite me too much. Grizelda Hervey in the role of the mother of the victim was.. to be frank she was simply annoying. The atmosphere is still very good and after all the play is still quite entertaining, but I'm disappointed at the same time and was also slightly bored at times, as I already know the story.
